Growing Insights - V5 fungicide

We started working with V5 fungicide on corn several years ago and what I have seen has made me a believer. The first benefit I have noticed is a more vigorous plant with a robust root system. This allows the plant to be more efficient in nutrient uptake while creating a healthier plant. Fungicide applied at this time helps the plant through the stresses of the season by making it more efficient with water utilization also. I would say the biggest single benefit is better standability in the fall because of a healthier stalk which allows you to harvest more grain.
In all our data we have shown an average of 7-bushel yield response over the past years. This makes V5 a sound returns on investment even in a tough grain market.
