The recipient of the August 2021 Cream of the Crop Award is Kevin Hartwig!
It was a very difficult choice to only be able to pick one employee from the St James Feed Mill crew. The whole crew has shown their knowledge, work ethic and dedication by keeping the 42-year-old mill cranking out an average of 965 tons each day!
Kevin has been part of this team for over 5 years. He stands out for his willingness to change. Several times over the course of his career with CFS he has switched back and forth between day shift and evening shift, as well as changes in job duties, to help us manage our changing work force, tons to be manufactured and customer needs.
His willingness to do this is a big part of our successful operation and truly makes him the Cream of the Crop!

Highlights as of 5/16:
Corn:
Planting and weather conditions are the name of the game currently. With planting progress looking very favorable and the weather forecast showing above normal temps and below normal precipitation for much of the corn belt all signs point to very good planting conditions. With that, we gave up yesterday’s gains on old crop and put in some new lows on December corn.
