Legislative Tour Highlights Innovation and Collaboration in Agriculture

Central Farm Service and Minnesota Crop Production Retailers (MCPR) recently co-hosted a legislative tour at the CFS Kenyon Agronomy location, bringing together state legislators, agricultural leaders, and industry partners to discuss the future of agriculture in Minnesota. The event was organized with support from Lee Helgen and focused on showcasing the value of modern agronomy, seed treatment, and the role of farmer-owned cooperatives.
Attendees included Representative Patricia Mueller, Senator Gene Dornink, Senator John Jasinski, Representative Keith Allen, Representative Tom Sexton, and Minnesota Department of Agriculture Commissioner Thom Petersen.
The program featured an overview of Central Farm Service, its history as a farmer-owned cooperative, and the services it provides to members across southern Minnesota and northern Iowa. Participants also toured the agronomy facility and learned about seed treatment operations, crop protection practices, and the technologies that help producers improve productivity while protecting their investments.
Throughout the event, legislators and industry representatives engaged in thoughtful discussions about the opportunities and challenges facing agriculture today. Topics included innovation, stewardship, regulatory considerations, and the importance of ensuring farmers have access to the tools and technologies needed to remain productive and competitive.
