Looking for Show Feed for your 4-H/FFA Animals?

Apr 20, 2021

We want to remind the 4H, FFA and other youth exhibitors of show animals that we continue to handle a full line of complete Honor Show Feeds manufactured by Purina for all ages of Show pigs, cattle, lambs, goats, rabbits, and poultry. We also handle the very popular Purina High Octane Supplements and Top Dress Products.  You can find the whole line up at www.purinamills.com/show-feed.  While at the website, you will find all kinds of tutorial articles, videos, a place to ask questions, pictures of past winners, and a Honor Roll Rewards Program for those who use Purina Products and win at their Regional/County, State and National Shows. We have had many winners from the area these past years.  You may have seen them wearing their Honor Show Jackets, Hoodies, Windshirts, etc. at the local livestock shows (before Covid-19).
We are also continuing our CFS Local Youth Awards Program for those using Purina Feed. Sue Bay will have more information on that in the next SCOOP.
We also make a few custom show feed diets using a Purina Show Pig Base Mix that have worked very well in the past.
We also want to remind everyone that we are willing to come out to the farm to help them and their pigs achieve their full potential by helping them with feeding recommendations, pig selections, grooming, getting pigs ready for the show, etc. (sorry, we don’t have any show experience with the other animals).  If any other CFS employees want to share their expertise in the other species, we would welcome your help.

Highlights as of 5/16:
Corn:
Planting and weather conditions are the name of the game currently. With planting progress looking very favorable and the weather forecast showing above normal temps and below normal precipitation for much of the corn belt all signs point to very good planting conditions. With that, we gave up yesterday’s gains on old crop and put in some new lows on December corn.

May is Beef Month!

I am proud to be a part of the cattle industry. Heart, dedication, and hard work are the words that come to mind when I think of the cattle industry. I am proud of our cattle producers as they put a lot of time and effort into raising, caring for, and providing a healthy, nutritious protein source to sustain our society.
