CONGRATULATIONS JAKE BYRO - DECEMBER 2020 CREAM OF THE CROP AWARD WINNER

Dec 01, 2020

The recipient of the December 2020 Cream of the Crop Award is Jake Byro!
Jake has been on the CFS grain team for over 6 years working primarily at the St. James downtown and west end grain elevators. When presenting this award to Jake he only reluctantly was willing to accept which really speaks to the reason he is so deserving of the award. Jake is a great example of a diligent, responsible, hard worker that gets the job done without direction or prompting, all the while keeping a low profile and not wanting to take credit for getting the work done and done well. We’ve worked short staffed for quite a few months and have had challenges with grain quality but through everything Jake was willing to do whatever needed to be done and always was always the go to person that knew the facility inside and out. If we had an award for “unsung hero” Jake would win it hands down, until that time he’s the Cream Of The Crop !!

Corn:
Planting and weather conditions are the name of the game currently. With planting progress looking very favorable and the weather forecast showing above normal temps and below normal precipitation for much of the corn belt all signs point to very good planting conditions. With that, we gave up yesterday’s gains on old crop and put in some new lows on December corn.
